On April 3-5 2017, Indianapolis will host to the 2017 Gospel Coalition Conference: “No Other Gospel: The Reformation–500 & Beyond.” We're very excited to have the Conference so close to home.
Conference organizers are expecting over 5000 people from around the country and world in attendance. Conferences like these provide unique opportunities for our community and churches. They give the gospel an unusual visibility, as thousands of people converge on the Indiana Convention Center, stay in downtown hotels, and eat at area restaurants. They allow us to network with other churches and ministries that are investing in the Indianapolis metro and beyond. They provide sound biblical teaching on an array of topics, access to hundreds of resources, and exposure to numerous ministry organizations.
The 2017 TGC National Conference also provides Indy churches an opportunity to serve. It takes a team of nearly 200 volunteers to run the conference–helping attendees find seats in the the auditorium, directing them to breakout rooms, and making them feel welcome in a large and unfamiliar venue. Conference organizers are looking for additional volunteers for the upcoming conference. Would you encourage your congregants to consider volunteering? Volunteers receive:
• complimentary registration
• a conference t-shirt to wear during your shifts
• access to the volunteer lounge with complimentary snacks and drinks
• reimbursement up to $12 for meals that occur during your shift
• reimbursement for parking (one time each day you are scheduled)
Most volunteers are even released to attend conference sessions during their shifts once ushering and hospitality tasks are completed and sessions have begun.
